“Parallel Lives” Auditions

About the show: One plus one equals comedy gold in the hands of Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy. Based on their very popular Off-Broadway show, the Kathy and Mo Show, Parallel Lives is a series of duets that take a progressive look at the games men and women play to get through everyday life.

Auditions are August 25 & 26 at 7pm; Actors only need to attend one day. Auditions will consist of a cold read and a prepared short monologue.

Open House 2015 Schedule

Open House is DramaTech’s annual recruitment event for anyone interested in getting involved with DramaTech Theatre. The week is a great way to meet DramaTech members and get a feel for how the club puts on shows (in just one week!). Newbies can audition for experiments (small acts directed by DramaTech members) and then perform them on the DT stage on either Friday or Saturday. If acting isn’t your thing, then you can give our techies a hand in hanging the lights, running sound cables, and building the set for the show, along with all the other things that need to get done! All of the following amazing events take place at DramaTech Theatre. (On the right side of the Ferst Center if facing the ice cream cone)

Sunday, August 16: Ice Cream Social @ 7PM

Monday, August 17: Board Game Night @ 7PM

Creating Experiential Theater: A Workshop with Third Rail Project THIS SUNDAY!

This two hour workshop will look at devising theater through site exploration, playback, improvisation, and image juxtaposition and how to reach our audience via sensory perception–from the traditional senses of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste to subtler shifts in balance, acceleration, time and topographical texture–to create a fully experiential work. We will also look at methods for researching and referencing literary archetypes, tropes, and structures in order to hook our creative content into legible frameworks. Finally, we will experiment with what it means to make space for our audience within our work.

Light Continental Breakfast served at 10:30am.

Workshop begins at 11:00am.

This workshop is first come, first served with a maximum of 15 participants. Please RSVP here if you’d like to attend.
