You can register for all of our events on Guidebook but most are drop-in, so feel free to stop by any time! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out on our Instagram @gtdramatech or just show up to the building to say hi! Chances are there’ll be someone there all week!
Our schedule of events for this week:
Sunday August 10th
Chalk and Talk – 6:00-8:00PM: Sidewalk chalk doodles and oodles of new friends! Meet DramaTech students new and old in a casual social event featuring chalk, pavement, free snacks, and most importantly: YOU!
Monday August 11th
Scavenger Hunt – 2:00-4:00PM: Start at DramaTech for a scavenger hunt! Follow our clues to find out more about different art organizations across campus. Collect small items at each location that you completed the hint and come back to DramaTech! The first few winners will get a prize.
LTT! Beginner Improv Workshop – 7:00-9:00PM: Have you always wanted to learn improv? Have you never once thought about improv, but you’ll try it because there’s nothing better to do? Maybe you’re a business-major-slash-aspiring stand-up who wants to improve their public speaking skills or maybe you’re just looking for something new and fun to help take your mind off the fact that you may or may not have 3 assignments due at midnight… Whether you’re dying to participate or just want to watch us goof around, we’d love to have you at our improv workshop to help us FINALLY answer the eternal question, “What is improv?”
Tuesday, August 12th
Coffee and Crafts – 11:00AM-1:00PM: Have fun chatting with DramaTech as well as crafts clubs while drinking coffee (or tea or hot chocolate) and making crafts! This is a great way to get to know some of our current members, as well as others who are also interested. We’ll be providing drinks for all attendees, and we will be making ransom notes, sock puppets, and some collaborative art for our upcoming Muppets’ art heist-themed open house show.
Karaoke Night – 8:00PM-12:00AM: Do you like to sing? Whether you are a shower singing rockstar or not, we want you to come and give it a shot with your favorite tunes! No talent required, just show up and grab the mic, or if you’d rather just watch, take a seat and cheer on your friends. Join us and have a blast!
Wednesday, August 13th
Ice Cream Social – 6:00-8:00PM: Come meet your fellow students as well as members of Dramatech, Georgia Tech’s student run theater! We’ll serve ice cream (with allergy-friendly and dairy-free options) while representatives from different facets of the theater will be set up to tell you more about what they do. Come learn what we do at DramaTech, from acting & improv to tap dance and technical theatre. This is a great way to get plugged into the arts at Tech and have a fun, chill afternoon!
Thursday, August 14th
DramaTech Tap Troupe Beginner Tap Dance Workshop – 10:00AM-12:00PM: Join the DramaTech Tap Troupe (DT3) for a tap dancing workshop! We’ll be going over basic steps and combinations before combining them into an introductory dance number. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome. Please wear comfortable closed-toe shoes.
Just Dance! – 2:00-5:00PM: Start the semester off right by dancing through life. Come join us for a fun-filled session of Just Dance to get out all of your school year jitters! We’ll be taking song suggestions, so be ready to dance to all of your favorite tracks. You’ll get to meet new friends and get a little taste of what it’s like to perform in Georgia Tech’s own black box theater!
GTMN Open Mic Night – 7:00-11:00PM: An Open Mic night hosted by Georgia Tech Musician’s Network! Feel free to bring your own instrument, but GTMN has a full concert set up! Come to sing or just stay and listen.
Friday, August 15th
The Big Gay Jamboree – 1:30-3:30PM: Come meet queer-friendly clubs and orgs on campus!
A Muppets Lock-in – 6:00PM-12:00AM: You’ll have the most sensational inspirational celebrational Muppetational time at this fun-filled night of food, games, and movies. Test your teamwork skills and your Muppets knowledge while making new friends. We will also have pizza and snacks around dinner time. Stay for just the first game or until the end of the night!
Saturday, August 16th

Open House Auditions – 5:00-9:00PM: Help us kick off DramaTech’s 2025-26 season with our Open House show! This year’s theme is Muppets’ Art Heist. We are looking for actors who are willing to spend one week putting together a series of short musical and nonmusical skits to be performed on Friday and Saturday. All audition materials will be provided at the audition and you can drop by at any time!
What’s Open House you ask?
It’s your chance to get involved with DramaTech!! If you’re interested in joining Georgia Tech’s student run theatre, audition for the show on Saturday, August 16th, or show up at drop-in work parties for all of our technical theatre departments from Sunday-Thursday to get a feel for what theatre at Tech is like! Full schedule TBD, but keep checking this page or our Instagram for updates!
Our Open House show will be performed Friday, August 22nd and Saturday, August 23rd at 8pm. Tickets are free, with a suggested donation of $5!
DramaTech’s Open House show is the stuff of legend. Performances of DramaTech upperclassmen doing their best work! Performances by brand new DramaTech members who have been rehearsing for just four days! A performance by Let’s Try This! – Georgia Tech’s only comedy improv troupe! A performance by DramaTech Tap Troupe – Georgia Tech’s only tap troupe! All in one night! Two different shows! Whether it is your first DT performance or not, it won’t be your last. Come see what DramaTech is all about. Seating is limited, so come early to get a good seat.
