HIGH GROUND

A new play by Caleigh Derreberry –

A sudden flood prevents Abraham from taking his daughter Morgan to her swim meet, stranding them at the house of his business partner, Olive Shaw. At least, that’s what he tells Morgan, who’s convinced he’s just trying to prevent her from attending CalTech. At least, that’s what he tells Olive, who wants him as far away from her house as possible. But the storm rages on and Abraham just wants to save Olive’s garden and Morgan just wants to leave and Olive just wants to be alone and everything just seems a little suspicious  — what business were these people in again? The story of a family and a flood and the ways we know one another.

Far Away – 8 pm

What does a dystopian future look like and how do humans fit into it?

Harper hears screams in the night and uncovers a secret that changes the course of her life. Far Away depicts a terrifying world where everyone and everything is at war. When you don’t know who to trust, can you even trust yourself?

Auditions – The Importance of Being Earnest

Auditions for DramaTech’s production of The Importance of Being Earnest will be held on Sunday, November 6 and Monday, November 7 at 7pm.  The auditions will consist of cold reading and you only need to audition on one of the two days.  Sides will be available to review on November 1 on DramaTech’s website.

Video submissions will be accepted for those who are not in the Atlanta area this semester. Deadline for video submissions are November 7 by 7pm EDT.  Video submissions should be emailed to ad@dramatech.org.

Performance dates are February 10 – 25, 2017 and some rehearsals will begin late this semester.

Auditions – The George P. Burdell Variety Hour

You’re invited to audition for the second annual George P. Burdell Variety Hour! The Variety Hour is a big collection of acts, skits, songs, and any other form of performance you can think of put on by DramaTech Theatre and hosted this year at the Ferst Center for the Arts.

Auditions are open to the whole Georgia Tech community, regardless of your theatre experience. Act submissions may consist of anything from a fully prepared musical number including choreography, props, and costumes to even a yet-unformed concept. Please come prepared ready to perform (or explain) the full extent of your act as you have it at that time. Understand that preference will be given to act submissions which exhibit greater degrees of preparation and planning, though these concerns are of course secondary to the artistic and entertainment value of the act.

DramaTech will be able to provide limited resources for the execution of (almost) any act. Including a willing, handsome director for consultation along the way.

Audition times will be decided based on your availability, and time-slot sign-ups will be posted soon.
