DramaTech EC Meeting November 15, 2010
Business Manager (Doug Abrams): - no report
Production Manager (Keller Smith): - Remember that we have auditions for The Shape of Things at 7 PM, so you'll be losing Melissa and possibly me.
Marketing Director (Bret Brammer): - no report
Secretary (Cameron Paul) - no report
Member at Large (Jorge Nessi) - no report
President (David Quigley): - Count is over. - The answering machine pinging the entire EC is nice, but we're running into the fundamental attribution error again. We should make sure that people reply all when they respond to a phone message. We also might need to set who is in charge of them. - Joey Martineck wrote a Christmas play last year, that he and Brian Lewis performed at the Catholic Center last year. It seems they are resurrecting (pun DEFINITELY intended) the show for two nights in December (December 9th and 10th at 7:30 PM). - We have weapons, Brian, and Sam for the President's Suite this Saturday. Melissa, do we need to look into having more? Let us know if you ever finally manage to get in touch with our contact. We should also bring information geared towards gaining audience members. - The show is over!
Artistic Director (Melissa Foulger): - We'll be discussing my big issue (the Ferst Center), so that will come up at meeting time. - Auditions for Shape of Things are tonight and tomorrow night. I assume that we'll have an email discussion regarding dates once the cast is announced? - Russell, do you or someone one from LTT want to change the voicemail and add information about your show? - Yes, Graham, you can have a poster. I'll get it on a dry day and bring it over. - Also, I'll get a copy of the constitution that the student services office has which I believe is the original. - Quigley, you and I need to talk club meeting dates for the spring so that I can start working on workshops for the spring. - I've continued to try to reach Trisha Sisk about the President's Suite. (Email and phone call this morning.) If all else fails, let's find a time to go to the Student Success Center and see if we can get in without her. - As for content for Saturday, we've got 10 - 15 minutes. Perhaps we can do a couple of scenes from the show and then speak about what DramaTech is, etc. Quigley, can you and I touch base about this at another time? - Reminder about Dead Week Dinner on 12/7. - We have a workshop this Wednesday that will focus on lighting and sound design with Joe Monaghan from Emory University. He also designs both lights and sound around Atlanta theatre. He will come back in the spring and do a specific workshop on Q-lab.
TSC: - Website migration will happen soon-ish now that Count is over, unless anyone has any specific reasons to delay. - Folks need to think before applying tape to things (Gaff tape -> Sound Board), as sometimes it'll rip all the paint off.
Committee Reports
LTT! - no report
Historian: - Monte Cristo is finally over. We have about 1 1/2 recordings (camcorder died during Act II of Closing Night...). I have collected the necessary amount of programs and have a couple posters (though I should be stealing another from Melissa at some point... please...). I am sending an e-mail to the designers requesting any documents they have. If any of you know of an uber important document that should be included in the file (I'm now creating files for each show), please let me know slash send me a copy slash hand it to me.
PRC: - The PRC will be having its first real meeting this week where we will - decide what scripts we want to read and review a couple of proposals - about how we'd like to present some shows
