minutes for EC Meeting on tue sep 13 2005 at 11:00 am

Attending: Aubrie, Amanda, Greg K., James, Martha, and Kelly

Officer Reports:

Artistic Director (Greg Abbott): * Brad and I are going to try to meet with Rodd Hineman about borrowing scaffolding on Thursday morning. * I have a meeting scheduled with Steve Cseplo of Facilities on Thursday morning at 9 at DT to look over new plans for facade. We need to get the bid process started on this. * Eric and I need to meet sometime this week to discuss next year SGA budget request. I talked to Danielle McDonald yesterday, and she said SGA had a "normal" amount of money; then, she said they didn't have enough to do any major increases. So we can ask for more, but not much (which we wouldn't get in any case, I think). * PRC--Kelly and I need to pick PRC. Also, we need to think about fact that 2007 is our 60th Anniversary year. On our 50th Anniversary year, we did a "special" season--there was some PR benefit in this. Might also help us with associated fund-raising efforts if we did a well-known or attention-getting season. One thing I had thought of was that we might do a "DT's Greatest Hits" season, selecting what we perceive to be the most successful or worthwhile shows from our first 60 years, and doing a season of them. It might be interesting, and we've done about a million shows over the last 60 years, so it wouldn't be hard to find good ones. Also--Last time, we made the calendar year a "season". Meaning our 50th Ann. Season ran from Jan.-Dec. 1997. This meant selecting a season and a half in advance. If we did that this time, the new PRC would need to select shows for next season, plus the fall of the following year (2007). This PRC would select shows to be done from beginning of Fall 2006 through end of Fall 2007. * I will be out of town for about a week sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. * BBIF--problems with getting travel stuff paid. I'm trying to work out with Sophia, but she has been out sick.
